After years as an amateur, small-town boxer Charlie (Mancini) and his manager buddy, Tiny (Chiklis), head to Reno with dreams of the big time. When they get there, a seasoned but gruff trainer (Steiger) recognizes Charlie’s potential and takes him under his wing. Everything is looking up for Charlie… until he’s forced to go into business with a shady Reno promoter (Mantegna) who demands that he trade in his principles and loyalties for a shot at the title!
