Zachary Browne plays Marty, a seventh grader whose run-ins with a neighbor (Scott Wilson) who mistreats his dog put Marty on a problem-filled path called growing up. Thanks to his caring father (Michael Moriarty) and genial Doc Wallace (Rod Steiger), Marty learns to confront his troubles responsibly. But it’s Shiloh who teaches Marty best. He heroically saves the life of the man who mistreated him, setting a standard of kindness and forgiveness Marty knows he must follow.
