Leah Manning (Joan Woodbury) has never stopped searching for her father’s murderer, although the police and the D.A. gave up long ago. Now she’s being further humiliated by an “expert criminologist” who has written a thinly fictionalized book accusing her mother of the crime! Charlie is intrigued enough to start asking around. But as soon as he does, a cutthroat gang of gem thieves who have been following Leah all along come after him – and the chase takes Charlie through a veritable labyrinth of fun house tricks.

Featuring Benson Fong as an unusually heroic and sympathetic Tommy, this Chan mystery was called “top-notch whodunit fare” by Variety.
