Grand Canyon Railway
Turn-of-the-century railroading lives along the beautiful 65 mile line of the Grand Canyon Railway. Originally opened in 1901 by the Santa Fe Railroad, the line was built to make the trip to the canyon as easy as possible and draw visitors to the spectacular sights of the west. Starting in historic Williams, Arizona this wonderful railroad takes passengers on a two-hour trip through pine forests and across small canyons and grassy plains right up to the south rim of the Grand Canyon. Historic depots, exquisitely restored passenger coaches, steam locomotives and the incredible sight of the canyon itself combine to make the Grand Canyon Railway a memorable experience for the whole family.
