And, in rare photographs and re-creations, the 19th-century's most colorful figures - including union organizer Mother Jones, the gallant General Patrick Cleburne, tycoon Diamond Jim Brady, and heavyweight champion boxer John L. Sullivan - are brought vividly to life.
